About The Celestial Archive

The Celestial Archive is a blend of my three favourite interests: writing, history and painting. Working from my studio here in the UK, I hand-paint every piece myself — watercolour for the star maps, and oil for my original constellation paintings. Many years ago I started off with star sign constellation prints, but it began to occur to me how many constellations were right above our heads – and just how many fascinating stories accompanied them.

Being a history lover, I started researching a few I hadn’t heard of before and very quickly the urge to connect others with these stories grew. In a past life I was lucky enough to write for a living, so harnessing those skills again to create history notes for each painting became a welcome new part of the job. Soon, I had a whole collection that has continued to expand into prints, greeting cards and bookmarks.

Alongside the artwork side of things, I publish regular articles about astronomy, ancient civilisations and even the odd gift guide in The Reading Room.

I feel so very privileged to have been able to create my dream job. My aim is for you to explore the shop, read through The Reading Room and come away with a new favourite constellation – one you had no idea existed before coming here, or a new appreciation for one you did.

If you want to stay up to date with The Celestial Archive universe, you can sign up to the newsletter to receive exclusive product announcements, discounts and articles straight to your inbox.

As always, thank you so much for being here supporting this project. It means so very much.

Love,
